Seal-A-Ridge is a special hip & ridge shingle. It is thicker and more evenly cut than the standard 3-tab shingles that are normally used on the hips and ridges. Also, it is “algae resistant”, unlike the 3-tabs which can become discolored rather quickly in the Houston area.
Seal-A-Ridge gives a perfect fit over 12” ridge vents and 2 layers can be used in order to get the “Z-Ridge” look. (Z-Ridge is only 9” wide so it cannot be used over the standard 12” ridge vents).
